The physiological causes of cellulite

6 February 2017

Cellulite is a true inflammatory disease, caused by a modification of the dermis due to accumulation of fat, toxins and stagnation of fluids in the tissues.

Consequences are the following: poor circulation, the compression of blood and lymphatic vessels and the excess of plasma that leaks out of the blood vessels.

Plasma moves between the cells and when time passed by it causes inflammation of the adipose tissue with fibrous formation of the subcutaneous tissue, the typical holes visible on the skin.

Capillaries are further compressed and the drainage of excess fluid becomes more and more difficult.

It becomes more visible and spread all over the skin if the tissues are not smooth and tonic.

90% of women is affected by cellulite in particular Mediterranean women over age 30.

A higher production of hormones during growth, puberty, pregnancy, menopause is a fertile ground for this type of inflammation.

  3. Sedentary lifestyle: Stay many hours sit and lack of movement
  4. Age: Over time, the tissue loses density making the imperfections more visible.
  5. Stress: anxiety and pressures produce metabolic changes.
  6. Excessive consumption of alcohol and smoking is enemy of circulation and promote cellulite
